He was heavily tipped by Africa according to polls to win the reality TV game show.Beverly Osu was the first out of the last five chasemates to be evicted. She was followed by Melvin. Moments later Ghanian Elikem was evicted leaving Cleo and eventual winner Dillish.
It can be recalled that Melvin has been involved in competitions and never won. He was the 1st runner up in the Gulder Ultimate Search. He also competed in the Mr Nigeria beauty pageant and also came 2nd. It was believed that he would break his 'curse' by winning the Big Brother Africa. Nigerians showed their anger on social media, Twitter that Melvin didn't win.
In a two hour Grand Finale Show, Ice Prince performed with other African acts. In between the acts, evicted housemates were called in according to how they were evicted. Sulu came in last and performed to the delight of fans. He dedicated the song to the original Ruby housemates.
Before the eviction show started, IK asked the housemates what they would do with the money if they win $300,000, but one of the most intriguing statement was from Beverly who said 'I will repair my room in my mother's house'.
A major highlight of the show was when Elikem locked his lips with Pokello. Pokello is leaving her boyfriend for Elikem. Another highpoint was when Elikem and Pokello won the Most Romantic Couple with an all expense paid trip to Mombasa in Kenya.
In the build up to announcing the winner, IK, the show presenter showed Cleo out of the house before announcing Dillish as the winner and expectedly, cried. She was crowned by her love, Stephen who declared her his queen.
