OBAMA CONGRATULATES NIGERIA

The United States President Barack Obama has issued a statement congratulating President Goodluck Jonathan and the People of Nigeria prior to the Independence day celebration today.
In a statement issued through the Secretary of State, John Kerry, Obama emphasize on the nature of bond that exists between the people of America and Nigeria, while speaking, he says " There is a warm friendship that connects the both Nations and the people in them which reflects the values shared, growth and respect for human right"

“Our partnership is strong because of our people, as the proverb tells us, if you want to go quickly go alone. If you want to go far go together,’’
He was further quoted saying “On the 53rd anniversary of your independence, I wish all Nigerians a safe and prosperous future”

Meanwhile,Nigerians in New York will be celebrating the independence anniversary schedule to start from 3rd to 5th and it is Tagged NIGERIA, TIME FOR CHANGE where different activities will take place such as the Independence day parade, carnival and speeches where Nigerians in diaspora will be showcasing the image and glory of the country.
